Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the course: "History of foreign literature" (from antiquity to the first half of the 19th century).
2. Knowledge of theoretical foundations: literary studies, translation studies, the basics of classical French literature, the contribution of key figures of French culture to world culture.
2. Ability: to carry out a basic literary analysis of a literary text, to distinguish between literary eras, directions, styles and phenomena, to read and analyze individual fragments of literary texts in French at the level of language training A2-B1.
Course content
The program acquaints students with the peculiarities of artistic phenomena at the heart of the literary process in France and partly in French-speaking countries of the second half of the 19th century, with the cultural-historical, social and artistic-aesthetic factors that mediate these processes in their theoretical-methodological connections with the history of French literature. , literary studies and translation studies, deepening the skills of literary and critical analysis already acquired during the previous semesters of study, advanced skills in artistic texts of the specified period, as well as applying the cultural and aesthetic potential of the acquired body of knowledge, abilities and skills in further professional philological and translation activities.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms and methods of teaching: lectures and seminars.
Measures: assessment of students' work in seminar classes, assessment of creative essays throughout the semester, assessment of the final test.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final grade for the course is formed as the sum of the points of the current control for the semester and provides for the final grade in the exam.
Forms of ongoing control include answers to seminar classes (max 40 / min 24 points), preparation of two creative essays (max 10 / min 6 points) and writing of the final control paper (max 10 / min 6 points). In total, the forms of the final control are max 60 / min 36 points.
Students who did not score at least 60 points during the semester must write a final test of increased difficulty.
The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written exam: the maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points (positive evaluation) that are added to the semester marks is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam).
