PLO 3. To apply modern methods and techniques, namely informational, in order to perform successful and effective professional activity and guarantee the quality of research in a specific linguistic field.
PLO 6. To use knowledge on expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize successful communication.

Course content
The course consists of two parts: "Basic concepts of comparative stylistics" and "Comparative aspect of functional and literary stylistics." The first is aimed at mastering tasks and basic concepts of comparative stylistics, as well as at studying the stylistic aspect of vocabulary, lexical subsystems and grammatical means. The second highlights the system of functional styles of the modern Portuguese language, as well as the system of figurative artistic means in their comparison with the Ukrainian language. Attention is also paid to the stylistics of the text, which is important for translation studies analysis.

Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation criteria: Intermediate control: oral answer - max. 30 points, supplement - max. 12 points, participation in discussions - max. 30 points, preparation of presentations - max. 14 points. Protection of presentations - max. 14 points. The first semester ends with an intermediate control, the maximum number of points is 100, 30% are transferred to the second semester and are taken into account in the formation of the semester grade. The maximum number of points in the second semester is 60. The minimum is 36. The course ends with an exam - 24/40.
