Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting this course, students should know the main stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process; have basic knowledge of humanitarian and social sciences; to be able to collect and interpret information about social phenomena, processes and events; to determine the modern features of the coexistence of human communities in the conditions of globalization; plan and evaluate own work; use interactive and multimedia learning tools; have elementary skills of working with humanitarian texts; critical attitude to political, economic, socio-cultural processes, events and phenomena.
Course content
The aim of the course is to make up a system of basic knowledge, skills and philosophical thinking for solving complex specialized tasks and practical problems, as well as creating conditions for students to independently understand the conditions of existence and development of the natural and social world, forms of culture and knowledge, man and his essence . The course introduces students to philosophical thought in its historical development and current state, with a fundamental way of understanding the foundations of human existence, knowledge and activity, mediated by the features of the relevant socio-cultural era; provides a holistic view of the specifics of philosophical knowledge, its issues, concepts and categories, structure; shows the methodological role of philosophical knowledge in the understanding of ontological, epistemological, axiological and social problems of existence, introduces the basic laws of the development of nature and society and the place of man in the world.

Lectures, seminars, consultations, oral response, additions, participation in discussions, essay , test work, exam.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge assessment is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level evaluation of the learned material, in particular, evaluation of theoretical training - learning results (knowledge), which makes up 40% of the total grade and evaluation of practical training, which makes up 60% of the total grade. Oral answers, additions and participation in discussions at seminars are assessed from 24 to 36 points; a student can get 10-16 points for test papers; and individual independent research work allows the students to get from 2 to 8 points. The semester amount of points is formed by the marks received by the student in the process of learning the material from all three parts and performing independent work. The overall semester grade consists of points obtained for: 1) classroom work (oral answers, additions and participation in discussions at seminars), 2) individual work (writing an essay), 3) tests.
