Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting this course, students should know the main characteristics of entrepreneurial activity, the basics of philosophy, and management. Possess the skills of analysis, synthesis, processing and visualization of statistical data, calculation of quantitative indicators, scientific research and information management; critical attitude to the analyzed phenomena; use of foreign language professional informative sources; working with secondary information; elementary skills of using Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is the formation of marketing thinking in students, the acquisition of basic knowledge of marketing as a leading function of management, as a branch of science and professional activity, and practical skills in making managerial decisions aimed at solving the problems of the enterprise and adapting its activities thanks to marketing tools to dynamic changes in the external environment. The subject of the discipline «Economics Fundamentals» is the theoretical, methodical and informational foundations of marketing; processes and methods and the use of consumers as individual market subjects. The educational discipline introduces students to the general patterns, principles of formation, functioning and development of the marketing system in market conditions, features of the construction of the marketing system at enterprises.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Verbal, visual, interactive and practical teaching methods: lecture, seminar class, independent work. Educational activities during the semester: research and search individual and group tasks performed during independent work; answers and additions at seminar classes, participation in the discussion; practical and situational tasks; essays; testing (educational trainings); individual calculation and analytical tasks;
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom and independent work (max. / min.): research and research individual and group tasks - 20 / 12 points; oral answer, additions at the seminar session, participation in the discussion - 10 / 6 points; practical and situational tasks - 20/12 points; essay – 10 / 6 points; testing (educational trainings) – 25 / 14 points; individual calculation and analytical tasks - 15 / 10 points. The maximum number of points is 100 points; minimum - 60 points. Final assessment: credit. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who scored less than 60 points in total during the semester must prepare material on the topics for which the debt arose, in the form of writing independent papers, or, if necessary, write a test paper.
