PLO 2. Process information effectively: collect relevant information from a variety of sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyse and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 12. Analyse language units, determine their interaction, and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes.

Full-time form

Students should successfully master the courses Introduction to Linguistics, Socio-Political Studies, Ukraine in the Context of World History, Lexicology and Phraseology; to know the theoretical foundations of psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics; to be able to critically analyze a political text; to master the practical rhetoric of the Ukrainian language.

The purpose of the discipline is the formation of critical thinking, the acquisition of knowledge about protection against harmful and hidden influences in political communication, the formation of skills and abilities to recognize and resist manipulative technologies in political discourse. Recognition of the techniques of suggestion, neurolinguistic manipulation is carried out on the example of texts of political discourse (political advertising, propaganda, etc.). Attention is also focused on the scientific concepts of the information and communication society. The study of the techniques of "black PR" and "black rhetoric" is also accompanied by comments on recognizing and countering suggestive influences. Defining the Internet as a separate new environment for political manipulation allows us to outline the principles of suggestive linguistics in Internet communication. Concepts, forms and methods of psychological protection also belong to the subjects of consideration.

Verbal, visual, interactive and practical methods of learning: lecture, practical session, independent work. Educational activities during the semester: tasks performed in the process of independent work; answers in practical classes; analytical report; control work.

Semester assessment: The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom and independent work: the answer to the practical lesson - 7x2 points / 7x1 point; report-analysis of scientific literature and Internet sources - 3x5 points / 3x3 points; control work with open answers - 16 points / 10 points; practical work with Internet resources - 5x7 points / 5x4 points; final test - 20 points / 14 points. The maximum number of points is 100 points; minimum - 60 points. Final assessment: credit. The credit is issued based on the results of the student's work during the semester. Students who scored a total of less than 60 points during the semester must prepare material on the topics for which the debt arose, in the form of writing independent papers, essays, or, if necessary, write a control paper.
