Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the discipline "Basics of proofreading and editing"; Students should know the main characteristics of text composition, linguistic and stylistic and other norms of editing. Be able to edit and correct texts on political topics, search and systematize literature. Have basic skills of working with search engines, general and specific methods of editing and proofreading.
Course content
The purpose is to provide students with modern theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of information analysis and synthesis, which are used in the scientific processing of political documents, their abstracting and annotation. Annotating and referencing texts is an important component of the professional training of a linguist. To master these types of written speech activity, students study appropriate algorithms that organize mental activity, such as: identifying and extracting the necessary information, changing its wording and argumentative presentation according to the logic and requirements of the relevant text genres. The material for consideration is the speeches of political leaders, political advertising (campaigning), political debates (talk shows), media reports, etc. The discipline is aimed at developing the skills of analytical and semantic processing of social and political texts, the result of which is the creation of informational content.

Assessment methods and criteria
The form of final control is credit. According to the types of works, a student can score the following number of points: The answer in the practical session – 3 points (x14 = 42 points) Independent work (summary, essay, abstract - at the teacher's discretion) - 20 points Written assignment (analytical review, abstract) – 18 points Final test - 20 points The credit score is formed as the sum of all points scored during the semester: 0-59 – not counted, 60-100 credits.
