Prerequisites and co-requisites
This course is based on knowledge of general courses in inorganic chemistry (classes of inorganic compounds, atomic structure), organic chemistry (classes of organic compounds), physics (gas laws, atomic structure, electricity) and mathematics (functions and graphs, averages, differential equations, systems of equations, differentials, integrals, operations with degrees, natural and decimal logarithms). Necessary for successful mastering of the discipline is the ability to work with scientific and scientific-methodical literature and Internet resources, the ability to independently apply knowledge of inorganic and organic chemistry, physics, mathematics and biology to specific tasks. The material of the discipline "Physical and Colloid Chemistry" is the basis for the study and understanding of a wide range of disciplines in the profile of the future specialty.
Course content
The discipline "Physical and Colloid Chemistry" is part of the program of professional training of educational level "Bachelor" in the educational program "Biotechnology". "Physical and colloid chemistry" highlights the basic physicochemical provisions and laws for thermodynamic description of systems of different types, features ïx existence at certain parameters and the influence of different conditions on the nature of processes occurring in them, and describes the patterns of processes from the standpoint of chemical kinetics , chemical equilibrium, phase equilibrium, physical chemistry of interphase phenomena, electrochemical and adsorption equilibrium. The discipline allows to generalize thermodynamic and kinetic approaches and basic physicochemical laws to explain the features and conditions of chemical, biochemical and biological processes, for practical calculations of various physicochemical characteristics and experimental determination.
