Learning outcomes
The purpose of the discipline “Infectious Diseases” involves acquiring and improving a set of knowledge, skills, abilities and other competencies sufficient to produce new ideas, solve complex problems in this discipline, master the methodology of scientific and pedagogical activities, as well as conduct own research that solves current scientific issues of infectious diseases, the results of which have scientific novelty, theoretical and practical significance

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the fundamental disciplines. 2. The ability to independently apply knowledge of medical biology, medical and biological physics, medical informatics, medical chemistry, bioorganic and biological chemistry, human anatomy, histology, cytology and embryology, physiology, microbiology, virology and immunology, life safety; fundamentals of bioethics and biosafety, pathomorphology, physiopathology, pharmacology, propaedeutics of internal medicine and other educational disciplines for the solution of specific scientific and practical problems; work with scientific and methodological literature. 3. Owning elementary skills of system analysis
Course content
The discipline “Infectious Diseases” provides medical students with an opportunity to acquire knowledge, skills and hands-on experience which allow specialists to quickly and correctly estimate situations when patients have infectious pathologies and other emergencies, avoid fatal mistakes or waste of time and take the first priority steps, which will save a person's life and/or become a good basis for their successful further treatment at the hospital. When mastering the discipline “Infectious Diseases”, it is rational to introduce modern world developments and standards on major issues of infectious diseases into the educational process
