Learning outcomes
PR13. Be able to carry out a feasibility study for the production of biotechnological products for various purposes (determination of the need for the target product and calculation of production capacity). PR14. Be able to justify the choice of biological agent, the composition of the nutrient medium and method of cultivation, the necessary ancillary work and the main stages of the technological process. PR15. Based on knowledge of the laws of mechanical, hydromechanical, thermal and mass transfer processes and basic design features, be able to choose the appropriate equipment in the design process for the production of biotechnological products for various purposes to ensure their maximum efficiency. PR16. Based on the knowledge gained during the practice at enterprises and institutions, be able to carry out product calculation and calculation technological equipment.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the courses "Molecular Biology", "Biochemistry". Be able to independently use knowledge performing laboratory and practical work, work with scientific and methodological literature. Have basic skills in working with materials and equipment used in biological and biotechnological laboratories
Course content
The discipline "Processes and apparatus of biotechnological production" covers the study of modern methods of biology and biotechnology in order to acquaint students with the basic concepts and basic principles of biotechnological production. In the course of studying the discipline the practical application and significance of certain methods in biotechnology is given or demonstrated.
