To design and organize measures for growing planting material of ornamental woody plants of open and closed soil and to form objects of garden and park economy in accordance with modern scientific methods and requirements of the customer. Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of scientific-theoretical and practical material of academic disciplines "Dendrology", "Decorative Dendrology", "Soil Science and Soil Microbiology", "Phytoecology", "Meteorology and Climatology", "Occupational Safety and Health during gardening" ». 2. Knowledge of the basics of soil science, selection and genetics of woody plants, phytoecology and biometrics within the program issues of disciplines taught during the previous period, 3. Ability to apply in scientific and applied activities methods of taxonomy of woody plants of different systematic and ecological groups. 4. Possession of basic skills in the manufacture of herbarium specimens of leafy shoots of woody plants, as well as the use of keys to plant determinants
Course content
Educational practice is designed to deepen and consolidate the theoretical knowledge gained by students during the study of the discipline "Dendrology". In particular, to acquaint students with the species composition of woody plants used for landscaping of urban landscapes and their biological and ecological properties, which determine the conditions of their suitability for cultivation within the urban environment. The program also provides students with mastery of methods for determining certain species of woody plants with the involvement of herbarium material, determinants of woody plants and catalogs of leading companies engaged in the sale of decorative planting material.
