Learning outcomes
The student should know the basic provisions about classification and the scope of application of satellite information systems, basic provisions on the basic principles of organization and construction of modern satellite communication, relay and navigation systems, basic principles of access to channels satellite networks, basic hardware elements provision for the organization of satellite systems, the basic principles of construction and problems of existing global, mobile and fixed satellite services. The student must be able to make a comparative description basic satellite systems and networks, reasonably propose the most optimal type and necessary characteristics of a satellite communication channel for solving the task of providing telecommunication services, making a comparative assessment possibilities and conditions of use according to the main operational characteristics of various types satellite information systems
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
The educational discipline is based on a cycle of disciplines professional and practical training, in particular: "Digital devices", "Digital processing signals", "Informatics and graphics in radio engineering", "Fundamentals of the theory of automatic management", "Digital circuitry", "Signal reception and processing", "Fundamentals of theory of telecommunications", "Signals and processes in radio engineering".
Course content
The discipline program examines the principles of construction and functioning of various satellite communication services and service, principles of operation of radio electronic devices and nodes, on the basis of which a general satellite communication system is created; calculation methods energy losses during radio signal transmission between ground stations and satellites, which can be used to optimally select the necessary hardware components for ensuring reliable signal reception, etc.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture classes, lecture classes using work in subgroups, practical classes, classes using mathematical packages, laboratory work,, independent individual work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester evaluation: control is carried out according to the following principle. The academic semester has two substantive modules. After the completion of the relevant topics, a written test is conducted modular control work. To determine the level of achievement of learning outcomes, the ability to solve specific tasks for the modular control work is checked tasks from satellite information systems. Writing a modular test with a score of at least 12 points is mandatory for admission to the credit. The final assessment is in the form of a credit. the form of assessment is written and oral. In total, you can get from 0 to 30 points for the credit. A condition for achieving a positive grade for a discipline is obtaining at least 60 points. there can be no credit assessment less than 18 points.
