Learning outcomes
The formation and development of competences in the area of modern information and computer technologies (ICTs), as well as medical statistics in order to ensure the efficient, rational use of modern general and specialised software applications for the processing of medical and biological data in the field of health care, in particular the ability to find professional information in global networks, to apply existing software packages for receiving, storing, analyzing and sharing information in their professional activities

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. a background based on the study by students of Math, Medical and Biological Physics, Medical Biology and integrated with these disciplines; 2. studies related to Biomedical Statistics, organization of health care system; 3. ability to apply knowledge in the process of further training and professional activities.
Course content
"Medical Informatics" includes the study of concepts, terminology, principles, methods, methodological approaches and the theory of modern information processes that involve the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in the field of health care. This discipline relates to the resources, databases, algorithms and methods needed to optimize the acquisition, storage, transmission and use of information in the field of health and biomedicine, including statistical data analysis. During the study of the discipline, the significance and practical application of informational support for activities in the health care system is demonstrated
