Learning outcomes
1. to understand the specifics and features of the implementation of cultural ideas, images, and meanings, as well as to critically evaluate the possibilities of their interpretation to solve important problems for a society. 2. to analyze textual and visual sources of information about cultural phenomena and processes; to verify information according to professional objectives. 6. to communicate fluently in official and foreign languages orally and in writing to discuss professional issues, presentation of research results and projects. 7. to evaluate historical achievements and the latest achievements in cultural studies.\ 12. to collect, analyze and evaluate empirical facts and interpret them in according to modern theoretical ideas of the relevant field of cultural studies.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before starting this course, students should know the main stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process; the main achievements of material and spiritual culture; the history of the formation and development of art, the peculiarities of functioning in the cultural system of a certain historical era. To be able to collect and interpret information about the phenomena and phenomena of culture, cultural processes and events; apply the main terms, categories and classifications of cultural studies in the analysis of socio-cultural phenomena and processes; explain the essence of the phenomenon of culture, its role in human life; identify modern trends in the development of artistic and cultural phenomena. 2. Possess elementary skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting regarding cultural and artistic events and phenomena; the use of foreign language informative cultural sources.
Course content
The discipline "Art in the context of culture" introduces students to the logic of the development of art and forms the skills of theoretical understanding of its phenomena. The educational discipline summarizes and systematizes the idea of the development of art from primitive times to the 20th century, the specifics of the emergence of art forms, forms general ideas about the originality of artistic thinking and artistic logic, which is carried out by specific form-forming means of art, the peculiarities of cultural and historical eras, which are characterized by original artistic complexes .

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment of semester work: 1. Self-study (creative written report): 24 / 40 points 2. Control work: 12 / 20 points The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of mastering the material from all parts of the academic discipline. The overall semester grade consists of points obtained for 1) independent work, 2) control work. All types of work in the semester have as a result: - a maximum of 60 points - a minimum of 36 points Final evaluation in the form of an exam: Written exam - 24 / 40 points Examination evaluation takes place in written form. The ticket consists of 2 questions, each of which is evaluated on a scale of 20 points, which gives a total of 40 points for the exam.
