Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Studying the discipline "Information protection in information systems" allows students to acquire knowledge and skills that will create a theoretical and practical foundation necessary for the analysis of threats arising from the storage, processing and transmission of information; building an information protection system based on the use of traditional cryptography and public key cryptography. After studying this discipline, a specialist should have the skills to build information protection systems in information and telecommunication systems and networks; know the main components and security threats of password systems, know access control methods.
Course content
The purpose of the educational discipline is the formation of theoretical knowledge about possible dangers and the degree of risk of information loss, as well as practical skills for ensuring the protection of software products, studying the principles of building information protection systems based on the use of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography algorithms, MAC codes for ensuring authenticity, integrity and confidentiality of information in CS, formation of students' understanding of the basics of information security.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes, laboratory work, individual work
Assessment methods and criteria
The level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of the defense of practical work and individual tasks of independent work. Semester assessment of students is carried out during the semester for all types of work. The total score is formed as a weighted sum of points earned by the student for various types of work.
The maximum number of points that a student can receive for work in a semester does not exceed 100 points. The final assessment form is an exam.
The exam is conducted by writing a test task followed by its discussion in the form of an interview.
A condition for obtaining a positive final grade for a discipline is the achievement of at least 60 points. For students who during the semester did not reach the minimum cut-off grade level (60% of the maximum possible number of points, i.e. 36 points),
