Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know - the basic ecosystem laws, methodological approaches to the knowledge of eco- and biosystems (discipline "Fundamentals of Ecology"). Its theoretical core consists of such sciences as general ecology, hydrobiology, zoology, botany, human and animal physiology, plant physiology and biochemistry, chemistry. 2. Be able to - interpret the basic characteristics of biological invasions, navigate in regulatory framework on the problems of transportation of plants and animals, conservation of species diversity, calculate the rate of biological invasions, overlap of multidimensional ecological niches and predict invasive processes. 3. Have the skills to perform basic research on biological invasions, mathematical calculations, limiting calculations, determine the overall negative effects of invasive species and quantify the quality of habitat for both invasive and other species of this ecosystem.
Course content
The teaching of this discipline is aimed at studying the concepts, terminology, principles, methods, methodological approaches and theories of modern ecology in global climate change. In the course of studying the discipline, examples are given and demonstrates the importance and practical application of the main laws and principles for optimizing the state of ecosystems and environmental management. Emphasis is placed on the inextricable link between invasive processes and the state of ecosystems; the study of biological invasions as a result of natural and anthropogenically induced processes, invasive species as components of ecosystems and the consequences of their impact; environmental risks due to biological invasions, their assessment, risk management and the ability to minimize adverse effects on ecosystems, biota and human health
