PR03. Understand the basic concepts, theoretical and practical problems in the field of natural sciences, necessary for analysis and decision-making in the field of ecology, environmental protection and optimal use of nature. PR08. Be able to search for information using appropriate sources to make informed decisions. PR15. Be able to explain the social, economic and political consequences of implementing environmental projects. PR25. Preserve and increase the achievements and values of society based on understanding the place of the subject area in the general system of knowledge, use different types and forms of physical activity to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know: the main periods of development, defining events and phenomena of world history
process; main directions of development of ecological, biological and medical knowledge in the context of civilizational development of mankind; the most commonly used concepts and terms in the field of historical science, ecology, biology and medicine; major achievements of modern ecology, biology and medicine.
2. Be able to: work with educational literature and scientific sources; to formulate one's own view on the development of scientific knowledge in the historical world
context; identify and analyze the stages of development of ecological, biological and
medical knowledge; to characterize the peculiarities of the development of individual industries, ecology, biology and medicine.
3. Possess basic skills of formation and substantiation of independent
conclusions on the personal contribution of prominent intellectuals to the world process
scientific progress.
Course content
The course covers the activities of prominent intellectuals in the world in the field of ecology, biology and medicine from ancient times to the present day. Considers the main stages of development of ecological, biological and medical knowledge, and determines the personal contribution of leading scientists of different times in the process of scientific progress at each stage. Analyzes the peculiarities of the development of certain branches of ecology, biology and medicine through the prism of the achievements of prominent scientists in relevant fields. Coverage of the activities of Ukrainian scientists - ecologists, biologists and physicians who have achieved significant results in science, the importance of their scientific discoveries and achievements for domestic and world science.
