Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know - the basic principles and patterns of structural organization and functioning of animal populations; principles of zoogeographical zoning; criteria for selection of rare and rare species. basic methods of obtaining factual data in natural conditions. 2. Be able to - choose methods for specific research; to analyze animal populations, assess the state of populations in order to preserve biodiversity; organize comprehensive studies of animal populations in certain ecosystems. 3. Have basic skills in conducting research in the field, statistical data processing in the field of zoogeography and population demography.
Course content
The theoretical core of the course are such sciences as general ecology, nature protection, zoology. However, it is closely related to such disciplines as biogeocenology, zoogeography, the study of biodiversity. The teaching of this discipline is aimed at theoretical and practical mastery of research methods by students and assessment of the state of populations of rare species, formation of future specialists' theoretical knowledge, skills and practical abilities to assess the current state of the population and predict its changes in the future. Understanding the causes and mechanisms of degradation of animal populations is very important, because these processes are closely related to modern anthropogenic changes in the environment
