Learning outcomes
PR02. Understand the basic environmental laws, rules and principles of environmental protection and nature management. PR08. Be able to search for information using appropriate sources to make informed decisions. PR10. Be able to use software, GIS technologies and Internet resources for information support of environmental research. PR16. Choose the optimal strategy for holding public hearings on the problems and formation of the territories of the nature reserve fund and the ecological network. PR19. Raise the professional level by continuing formal education and self-education.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
- The discipline is based on school knowledge of topography and cartography. It is closely related to the disciplines "Geology with the basics of geomorphology", "Hydrology", "Hydroecology", "Chemistry with the basics of biochemistry", "General ecology", etc .; - Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of mathematics, statistics, probability theory, engineering and computer graphics; - Possession of basic skills of mathematical modeling, forecasting; knowledge of GIS information systems
Course content
The course acquaints with the theoretical foundations of ecological mapping, in particular the place and role of mapping environmental protection, the importance for mapping environmental laws and principles of other sciences. Studies the methodology of ecological mapping: content load and methods of cartographic representation of indicators of ecological situation, their theoretical interpretation, spatial and temporal integration; content and methods of compiling ecological maps; applied ecological mapping and use of maps; cartographic support of engineering and ecological surveys, ecological aspects of cadastral mapping, geographical analysis of ecological problems. The course consists of two content modules.

Blitz of the survey: PH 1.1-4.1 - 10 points / 5 points. 5. Oral answer: PH 1.1-4.1 - 10 points / 5 points. Final assessment: in the form of a credit
