- Use information technology, cartographic and geoinformation models in the field of Earth sciences. - Organize and summarize materials of field and laboratory geological research, integrate them from observation to recognition, synthesis and modeling. - Be able to choose the best methods and tools for geological research, collection and processing of geological data.

Course content

There is an acquaintance with the basics of data organization, database management systems. Students get acquainted with the stages of development of the main elements of the bases data, their presentation and evaluation. The general paradigms of database design are studied and acquaintance with modern environments of their management is carried out. Students get acquainted with the structure and basic definitions of the SQL programming language.
