Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students have: to know and understand the grammatical system of the ancient Greek and Latin , to understand the basic concepts and categories of classical philology and to be able to analyze linguistic units, determine their interaction, characterize linguistic phenomena and processes that cause them, carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of various styles and genres of ancient Greek and Latin; to know the general properties of literature as the art of words, the history of ancient Greek and Roman literature, the regularities of the literary process of antiquity, prominent representatives of ancient literature and their works, to be able to analyze and interpret the works of ancient literature, to determine the peculiarities of the genesis and evolution of the genera-species and genre system of ancient Greece and Roman literature.

Course content
The comprehensive final exam in classical languages and literatures aims to check and evaluate students' theoretical and practical knowledge of ancient Greek and Latin languages, theoretical knowledge of classical literatures and the ability to analyze, comment, interpret and translate fragments of texts of various styles and genres in ancient Greek and Latin languages. The exam consists of two parts: written and oral. The written part involves answering theoretical questions, written analysis and translation of fragments in ancient Greek and Latin. The oral part involves answering theoretical questions from classical languages and literatures, translation, analysis, commenting and interpretation of fragments in ancient Greek and Latin.

Assessment methods and criteria
The structure of the exam paper reflects the complex nature of the exam and consists of four tasks. The first three questions are aimed at assessing students' knowledge and are of a theoretical nature: the first - from the ancient Greek language; the second - from Latin; the third - from ancient literature; the fourth practical task aimed at evaluating students' ability to translate, analyze, comment and interpret texts in classical languages.
Evaluation criteria. The maximum number of points that a graduate can score is 100. The maximum / minimum possible number of points for each theoretical question: the maximum point is 20; the minimum score is 15. The maximum / minimum possible number of points for a practical task: the maximum score is 40; the minimum score is 15.
The number of points that a graduate can score is formed by the sum of points for 4 questions: the maximum number of points is 100, the minimum positive number of points is 60, according to the rating scale.
