Learning outcomes
Know: the essence of international portfolio investments, the IMF methodology for their identification, the economic content of international investment management, the main stages international investment process, features and specifics of international investment activities, market efficiency hypothesis, basic principles of effective and optimal portfolios, basic models for estimating expected returns, advantages and disadvantages of international diversification of investment portfolios, basic patterns and trends of international portfolio investments.
Be able to: conduct independent analysis of international investment activities, develop basic strategies of international investment management, independently research and critically evaluate the effectiveness of international investment portfolios of institutional investors, calculate the main investment characteristics of portfolios, solve common problems of international investment management.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) Command of general material on international issues
financial and investment environment.
2) Availability of skills in working with electronic databases.
3) Ability to perform simple data operations in the Microsoft environment
Excel.

Part ІІ. Іnternational diversification of investment portfolio.
6. The essence, advantages and disadvantages of international diversification of investment portfolios
7. International diversification: empirical testing
8. International diversification through shares of small and little-known companies
9. Global flows of international portfolio investment in modern conditions

Lecture, seminar, test work (combined test), speeches and discussions in class, case report.
Assessment methods and criteria
1. Work at seminars - speeches, additions, discussions, debates, blitz tests, solving typical problems - 30 points / 18 points.
2. Case report - 15 points / 9 points.
3. Test (combined test) - 15 points / 9 points.
It is obligatory to write an intermediate test, which is evaluated in 15 points and involves students to write a combined written test.
