Learning outcomes
Know: categorical-conceptual apparatus of insurance (risk, insurance risk, risk financing. Insurance premium, insurance indemnity, etc.); main features of insurance as a scenario of risk management with risk financing at the expense of the insurance fund; functional structure of the insurance market; trends in the development of insurance markets of leading economies and the insurance market of Ukraine; the specifics of state supervision and regulation of insurance activities in Ukraine and leading economies.
Be able to: determine the risk profile of the corporation and understand the content of the insurance contract and its structural parts; analyze the insurer's portfolio from the standpoint of the need for international reinsurance; evaluate the insurer in the system of indicators (quality-price of the service); assess the needs for export credit insurance and guarantees in Export Credit Agencies.

1. Knowledge of the basics of economic theory and international economic relations;
2. Understanding the basics of export-import operations;
3. Fundamentals of professional economic terminology in English.
Course content
Financial and economic essence of insurance. Insurance market, its structure and participants. State regulation of insurance activity in Ukraine. Financial and economic content of the insurance contract. Specifics of international business insurance. Cargo insurance in the implementation of export-import operations. Insurance of political risks and country risks. Insurance of export credits and reinvestments. Reinsurance.
