Learning outcomes
Know: the nature and main stages of international investment management; main types and classifications of international portfolio strategies, key characteristics of investment strategies of institutional investors; sources of international portfolio investment information; approaches to the optimization of international investment portfolios, their advantages and disadvantages, methodology of application; basic approaches to stock valuation, formation and management of international stock portfolios; main methods of valuing debt securities, managing portfolios of such securities and determining their investment characteristics; nature, principles and methods of applying investment strategies based on stock indices and averages; basic methods of evaluating the effectiveness of international investment management. Be able to create basic international portfolio strategies; find statistics on international portfolio investment, to form arrays of this data suitable for analysis.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) Possession of general material on international finance and investment. 2) Successful mastering of the course "International Portfolio Investment". 3) Availability of skills in working with electronic databases. 4) Ability to perform simple data operations in Microsoft Excel.
Course content
Part I. International investment management: nature and strategies. Introduction to the course. The nature and stages of international investment management. Types and classification of international portfolio strategies. An empirical review of institutional investor strategies and portfolios. Part II. International investment management of portfolios of certain types of securities. Sources of information on international portfolio flows and markets for individual securities. Optimization of international portfolios in the environment of individual software products. Management of international stock portfolios. Strategies for the formation of international portfolios of debt securities. Stock indices and averages in international investment management. Evaluation of the effectiveness of international investment management.
