Learning outcomes
Know the classification of groundwater by chemical composition, the processes of formation of the material composition of water, the migration forms of chemical elements in groundwater, the causes of the natural hydrogeochemical zonality of groundwater. Be able to determine the origin (natural or technogenic) of the excess content in groundwater of normalized indicators, apply knowledge about the chemical composition of groundwater in solving various economic problems, work out the results of analyzes of the chemical composition of groundwater, build maps and graphs
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
to master the academic discipline, knowledge of physics, mathematics, chemistry, and the basics of geochemistry is required
Course content
Students will receive basic knowledge about the processes of formation of groundwater material composition; learn to analyze the groundwater qualitative composition; get acquainted with the main methods and ways of classifying groundwater by chemical composition; learn how to build hydrogeochemical maps

Lectures, laboratory work, independent work of students
Assessment methods and criteria
Control involves laboratory work and 2 written tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written and oral exam. The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. A student is not allowed to take the final grade if he / she scored less than 20 points during the semester. During the semester the student can score from 36 to 60 points. During the exam the student can get from 24 to 40 points
