Course content
The aim of the course is to prepare students for work as consecutive interpreters who possess shorthand technique. The lectures introduce students to the profession of consecutive interpreting, the fundamentals of shorthand for interpreters, and notation systems (G. Matusek, J.-F. Rozan, D. Gile), as well as the adaptation of these systems to their own needs. During practical sessions, students acquire skills in shorthand for interpreting and techniques of semantic analysis of texts. They practice consecutive interpretation from German to Ukrainian and vice versa based on texts of various topics and learn to create and apply their own symbols.
