Learning outcomes
PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, German and English. PLO 12. Analyse language units, determine their interaction, and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes. PLO 15. Perform linguistic, literary and translation analysis of texts of different styles and genres.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To possess a solid knowledge of phonetics, lexicology, and grammar of the German language, as well as general linguistics; To be able to apply this knowledge for adequate comprehension of expressions/texts; To have skills in working with texts, including literary texts; To be able to utilize Ukrainian and foreign-language academic sources; To possess a level B2.1 proficiency in the German language.
Course content
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the stylistic resources of the German language, the possible stylistic functions of language means at all levels, and to develop their abilities to comprehensively perceive, interpret, use, and reproduce language means and/or their functions in different styles, genres, and types of texts. Additionally, the goal is to cultivate students' understanding of the stylistic potential and the importance of selecting language units and speech in various communicative situations. Alongside this, the teaching of the discipline aims to foster a contemporary polylingual personality, develop skills and proficiency in effectively utilizing language means in different spheres and registers of language communication, as well as in translation.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures - 18 hours, seminar sessions - 24 hours (stylistic analysis of sentences and texts, analysis of functional styles, presentations, tests), self-study - 48 hours (preparation of homework assignments, presentations, text analysis). Consultation - 2 hours.
Assessment methods and criteria
For classroom work involving oral responses, contributions, and participation in discussions (which includes self-study during preparation, practical exercises, analysis of sentences and texts, and providing examples) - maximum of 30 points, For presentation - maximum of 10 points, For two module assignments - 2 x 10 points = 20 points. Exam: The examination paper consists of four tasks: 2 theoretical questions on stylistics: 10 x 2 = 20 points Completion of 2 practical tasks (analysis of sentences or short expressions and analysis of a text excerpt): 10 + 10 = 20 points.
