Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non- experts in Ukrainian, German and English, in oral and in written form, use these languages to organize effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 9. Characterize dialect and social varieties of German language, describe the sociolinguistic situation. PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 14. Use German and English in oral and written form, in different genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life. PLO 17. Collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them to solve complex problems and problems in specialized areas of professional activity and/or study.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The discipline "Practice of the first foreign language" is an elective course that is part of the block of disciplines "Written and Oral Specialized Translation". Prerequisite: successful completion of the course "Practical Course of the First Foreign Language".
Course content
The aim of the discipline "Practice of the first foreign language" is to develop flexible and effective proficiency in the German language according to the communicative situation, rapid identification of the characteristics of the communicative situation, and mastery of a wide range of speaking skills. The discipline focuses on developing discourse competence and acquiring advanced skills in writing, reading, listening, and speaking. It also prepares students for writing their bachelor's qualification work.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Continuous assessment is carried out during classroom sessions to check the level of mastery of the study material through tests, oral questioning, group and individual tasks. Module assessment is conducted after the completion of the content module. Semester assessment takes place according to the curriculum through interim evaluations.
Assessment methods and criteria
In the 6th semester, the continuous assessment is carried out through oral questioning, tests, group and individual assignments, with a scoring range of minimum 24 to maximum 40 points. Module assessments include writing a module test, with a scoring range of minimum 24 to maximum 40 points. The final exam consists of an oral and a written part, with a scoring range of minimum 12 to maximum 20 points.
