Course content
The discipline "Structural basis of the functioning of proteins and peptides" covers the study of different levels of structural organization of proteins, structure and function of the most important types of proteins - enzymatic, transport, fibrillar, membrane. Considerable attention is paid to the consideration of different levels of structural organization of protein molecules (for example, globins), the domain principle of their construction and the fundamental importance and functions of proteins. In particular, the study of biochemical and molecular mechanisms of catalysis, modern theories of enzyme-substrate interaction is covered. Peculiarities of enzymes functioning and their classification are studied, modern data on their structure and practical application are generalized.
