Learning outcomes
PR6. Analyze biological phenomena and processes at the molecular, cellular, organismal, population-species and biosphere levels in terms of basic general scientific knowledge, as well as using special modern research methods. PR10. Present the results of scientific work in writing (in the form of a report, scientific publications, etc.) and orally (in the form of reports and defense of the report) using modern technologies, argue their position in the scientific discussion. PR12. Use innovative approaches to solve complex problems of biology under uncertain conditions and requirements. PR19. Solve scientific-theoretical, research and applied problems of biology by appropriate methods. PR36. Be able to form a system of analysis of the development of emergent and persistent infections and mechanisms of endogenization of viruses, based on in-depth knowledge of the disciplines of professional training.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of scientific-theoretical and practical material of academic disciplines taught to students of educational level "Bachelor". 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of virology, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, cytology and histology, physiology, zoology, biophysics, etc. 3. Have basic skills in planning and conducting experimental research in a particular field of biology in order to solve a specific scientific and practical problem. 4. To have basic skills of analytical evaluation of research results conducted in the fields of biology and virology to solve a specific scientific and practical problem.
Course content
The discipline is a basic discipline that covers the mechanisms of viral infections. An important place is given to clinical issues, principles of diagnosis, prevention and treatment of viral diseases. Individual viral infections, their pathogenesis and epidemiology are considered in detail. The classification of diseases is based on WHO recommendations. The course is designed to summarize the student's ideas about the features of the clinical picture and pathogenesis of human viral infections at the cellular and organismal level, as well as enable students to master the skills of planning and conducting experimental work using various methods and techniques for diagnosing human viral diseases, statistical processing of data and interpretation of experimental results (both manually and provided by scientific laboratories and / or published in the scientific literature)
