Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) know the basics of general geomorphology and geology, ecology and have
theoretical knowledge (basic school) of the physical geography of the world and Ukraine, have
an idea of the geographical features and specifics of individual natural areas;
2) be able to establish relationships between ecosystem components, analyze them;
3) have elementary skills of system analysis, understand the cause and
cause-and-effect relationships between the components of nature.
Course content
The discipline consists of two content modules. The first analyzes the essence of the
the concept of soil and modern approaches to its interpretation, modern theoretical and methodological foundations and
theoretical and methodological foundations and priority areas of soil science research,
the importance of soil for nature and practical human activity, phase composition of soil, basic
physical, physicochemical and morphological properties of soils.
The second content module considers the factors of soil formation, the basics of soil
soil formation, modern world and Ukrainian soil classifications, analyzes
regularities of distribution and basic laws of soil geography, soil-geographical
zoning, the pedosphere as a global shell, its place and role among other
geospheres of the Earth. In general terms, the soil cover of the world and Ukraine is studied. Also in
module considers the basics of rational use and protection of soil and land
resources.
The discipline "Soil Science with the Basics of Soil Geography" is one of the
components of the comprehensive training of applicants for bachelor's degree
specialty "103 Earth Sciences" of the educational and scientific program "Meteorology".
