Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non- experts in Ukrainian, German and English, in oral and in written form, use these languages to organize effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 9. Characterize dialect and social varieties of German language, describe the sociolinguistic situation. PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, German and English. PLO 14. Use German and English in oral and written form, in different genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the discipline "Practical Course of German Language" in the first year. To have basic knowledge, skills, and abilities in all aspects of speech activity (reading, listening, speaking, writing) within the thematic program of the first year and beyond.
Course content
The purpose of studying the discipline is the practical mastery by students of the system of the German language and its norms of functioning in communicative speech situations in various spheres of socio-political life and everyday life; further development and improvement of listening, monological and dialogical speech skills, reading, and writing within the thematic program and beyond; improvement of skills and abilities acquired in previous stages of learning through expanded lexical and grammatical material; formation and development of translation skills; formation of sociocultural and sociolinguistic competence. In the third semester, the discipline is taught for a total of 270 hours (136 hours of classroom instruction and 134 hours of independent work). In the fourth semester, it is taught for a total of 330 hours (166 hours of classroom instruction and 164 hours of independent work). Each semester includes three content modules and three module-based assessments. The study of the discipline concludes with an examination.

Educational activities throughout the semester include: Responses during practical classes (retelling and translation of texts, conversations, discussions, completion of grammar and vocabulary exercises, translation tasks, listening exercises) Assignments that are completed during independent work Presentations, speeches, reports.

Semester assessment: - Maximum score throughout the semester: 60 points - Mastery of grammar: Learning outcomes 1.1, 2.5, 4.1 - 15 points - Proficiency in conversational topics, development of dialogue and monologue speaking skills, creative writing skills, listening skills: Learning outcomes 1.1, 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 4.1 - 15 points - Analytical reading: Learning outcomes 2.3, 2.4, 4.1 - 10 points - Individual home reading: Learning outcomes 2.3 - 2.5, 4.1, 4.2 - 10 points - Compilation of a thematic vocabulary: Learning outcomes 1.1, 4.1 - 5 points - Attendance, preparation for classes, active participation in classes: Learning outcomes 1.1, 1.2, 2.1 - 2.5, 3.1, 4.1, 4.2 - 5 points - Final assessment in the form of an exam: - Maximum score on the exam - 40 points - Written part of the exam - 10 points - Oral part of the exam - 30 points: - Grammar topic - 10 points - Conversation on a given topic - 10 points - Translation of sentences - 10 points
