Prerequisites and co-requisites
The program is designed for students who have knowledge of the theoretical foundations of Ukrainian grammar, morphology, and syntax. Additionally, they should possess elementary skills in syntactic analysis of sentences and logical expression of their own thoughts.
Course content
The course focuses on the study of the fundamental phonetic, grammatical, and lexical systems of the German language. It aims to develop students' written and oral proficiency in German while fostering the acquisition of communicative competencies at various levels. Students practice writing and speaking skills extensively, utilizing audio and video materials. There is systematic correction and automation of students' pronunciation skills, as well as work on developing speech fluency. The discipline concludes with an exam at the end of the semester.

Assessment methods and criteria
The assessment of knowledge is carried out according to the ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) system, which involves a two-level evaluation of acquired material. This includes the assessment of theoretical preparation - learning outcomes (knowledge 1.1-1.3), which constitutes 40% of the overall grade, and the assessment of practical preparation - learning outcomes (skills 2.1-2.3); (communication 3.1-3.2); (autonomy and responsibility 4.1), which constitutes 60% of the overall grade.
