Learning outcomes
1. to understand the specifics and features of the implementation of cultural ideas, images, and meanings, as well as to critically evaluate the possibilities of their interpretation to solve important problems for a society.
2. to analyze textual and visual sources of information about cultural phenomena and processes; to verify information according to professional objectives.
3. to analyze cultural rights and human freedoms, forms and mechanisms of their identification, inculturation, cultural adaptation, taking into account their regional specifics.
6. to communicate fluently in official and foreign languages orally and in writing to discuss professional issues, presentation of research results and projects.
7. to evaluate historical achievements and the latest achievements in cultural studies.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before studying this course, students must know the basic stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process; basic culturological theories and methods of culturological research, as well as methods of comparative analysis, philosophy of culture, cultural anthropology, sociology of culture, basic culturological concepts and categories.
Students must be able to collect and interpret information on phenomena and phenomena of culture, cultural processes and events; apply the basic terms, categories and classifications of culturology in the analysis of socio-cultural phenomena and processes; identify current trends in the coexistence of different cultures in the context of globalization.3. Students must have basic skills of scientific research and comparative interpretation of information on socio-political processes, religious and ideological traditions, cultural and artistic events and phenomena; use of foreign language professional culturological information sources
Course content
"East-West" as a component of cultural analysis. Features of the formation of the Arab-Muslim cultural region. The influence of Arab-Muslim culture on the culture of Europe. Features of Arab-Muslim art. Features of the formation of the culture of Black Africa. Religious beliefs, mythology and art of Black Africa. Features of cultural development of the Far Eastern region. Confucianism as a cultural stratagem. The identity and interactions of the culture of China, Korea and Japan: The symbolic space of artistic culture and trends in Far Eastern cultures at the present stage. Indian cultural region in interdisciplinary research. The problem of genesis and periodization of Indian culture. The process of cultural identification: the specifics of the Indian experience. Picture of the world of Indian culture in basic religious and philosophical texts and religious practices. Cultural heritage of traditional Indian culture.

5. Self-study (writing an expert opinion): 8/10 points
6.Final test in writing - 12/20 points
Final assessment in the form of credit: the final number of points in the course (maximum 100 points) is determined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final test.
2 semester
1. Oral report, additions and participation in discussions at seminars: 12/30 points
2. Self-study (comparative study of eastern and western trends in the cultural development of regions): 8/10 points
3. Self-study (visual presentation of cultural practices of India): 8/10 points
4. Intermediate test work: 8/10 points
Final assessment is carried out in the exam: Final Written Exam: 24/40 points
