Learning outcomes
PRN 3. To know and understand the principles, forms, modern methods, methodological methods of teaching subject in institutions of general secondary education PRN 5. Be able to operate with basic categories and concepts of the specialty. PRN 17. To form in students the ability to use geographical and cartographic language in the educational process, apply algorithms for using printed and digital cartographic products with the characteristics of individual geographic objects and territories. PRN 31. Use methods and data of natural/social sciences, information technologies, cartographic and geoinformation models in the fields of the subject area of geographical sciences and carry out research of the geographical envelope, its spheres according to using quantitative and qualitative methods of geography analysis.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the courses: Geographical cartography (Module 1. Topography with basics geodesy; Module 2. Cartography), Mathematical and statistical methods in geography, Cartographic methods in teaching geography/Educational geographic maps and atlases, Teaching methods geography in ZONZ, School tourism. 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of basic geographical theories and concepts. 3. Knowledge and understanding of the main spatio-temporal patterns of relationships and relations to the "man - environment" system.
Course content
Abstract of the educational discipline: the educational discipline "Geographic information systems and remote monitoring" is assigned to the educational-professional group the discipline of preparation for the Bachelor of Geography (Secondary Education: Geography) and is integral part of providing professional knowledge in the field of information technologies for collection, accumulation, processing, analysis and modeling in the field of territory resource management, design and territory planning, audit and cadastre of resources, environmental protection environment, tourism product development, etc. the academic discipline provides basic knowledge and skills in using GIS in the study of natural conditions and anthropogenic transformations territories during the teaching of geographic disciplines in educational institutions of different levels. Studying an academic discipline allows students to acquire knowledge and skills from analysis, modeling, optimization, generalization and dissemination of information means modern geographic information technologies.
