Learning outcomes
PLO 3. To apply modern methods and techniques, namely informational, in order to perform successful and effective professional activity and guarantee the quality of research in a specific field of Translation Studies.
PLO 4. To assess and analyze critically vital social, individual and professional issues and offer tactics for their resolution, in difficult and unpredictable conditions, which require the application of new approaches and forecasting.
PLO 6. To use knowledge on expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques, principles of intercultural management in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize successful communication.
PLO 10. To collect and systematize facts of language and literature, to interpret and translate texts of various styles and genres (depending on the chosen specialization).

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To understand the basic categories of translation and general principles of interpretation.
2. To be able to apply the main translation techniques appropriately.
3. To have a proficiency level in English not lower than C1 and in Ukrainian not lower than C2.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to develop and enhance the general and professional competencies necessary for understanding the fundamental principles of the oral translation process during conferences and meetings, as well as to study the main types of translation equivalents based on working with a wide range of texts.
This discipline belongs to the "Oral Translation" elective block and provides students with preparation for professional translation activities.
The practical sessions focus on familiarizing students with the lexical, grammatical, syntactic, and genre-stylistic features of conference translation, as well as acquiring practical skills in translation techniques and understanding the appropriateness of their usage based on genre-specific norms and functional characteristics of translating various types of speeches (presentations, remarks, amendment justifications, chairing a meeting, etc.). The teaching and evaluation are conducted in English and Ukrainian languages.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
During the semester, the following educational activities are conducted:
• Practical sessions covering two thematic blocks: "Part 1: Translation of international and governmental organization meetings" and "Part 2: Translation of thematic conferences."
• Intermediate assessments, including written tests on lexical knowledge and control assignments.
Assessment methods and criteria
The total score for the semester (60 points) is based on the scores obtained by the student in the process of mastering the material from all thematic topics. This includes oral responses during practical sessions, tests to assess lexical knowledge, and practical assignments that demonstrate the student's ability to perform oral or written summary translation.
The final evaluation is conducted through a written and oral exam. The maximum score for the exam is 40 points.
The exam consists of three tasks:
1. Summarize a text in Ukrainian (written, 15 points).
2. Perform consecutive interpretation of a given text (oral, 15 points).
3. Lexical knowledge assessment for the semester (oral, 10 points).
