Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To demonstrate an adequate level of mastery of national and foreign languages to perform written and spoken communication, namely in the situations of professional and academic communication; to present the results of their studies in these national and foreign languages. PLO 4. To assess and analyze critically vital social, individual and professional issues and offer tactics for their resolution, in difficult and unpredictable conditions, which require the application of new approaches and forecasting. PLO 5. To find optimal ways for effective interaction in the professional community and with representatives of other professional groups at various levels. PLO 6. To use knowledge on expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques, principles of intercultural management in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize successful communication.

Proficiency in the German language at level B2 and above.
Course content
This selective practical discipline focuses primarily on oral intercultural communication (German-Ukrainian) involving the role of an interpreter in various contexts such as speeches, negotiations, conversations, and presentations. During the sessions, students familiarize themselves with the theoretical foundations of rhetoric, study the techniques of eloquence, develop an awareness of their ethical dimensions, and cultivate a critical attitude towards their application. They learn about the main rhetorical devices, their functions, and practice their use to achieve communicative intentions in the German language. Students also reflect on the role of an interpreter in oral intercultural communication. In the second half of the semester, students are required to deliver a public speech in German, applying the acquired rhetorical techniques and adhering to established norms and conventions. They receive a developed portfolio containing materials related to the discipline.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The learning activities for this course include presentations, information research, studying provided materials (refer to the portfolio), reflection, practical exercises (analyzing video and printed materials), individual and team assignments, feedback, credit assignments, credit presentation.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final semester grade (pass/fail) is determined by the points earned by the student for the specified types of learning and forms of assessment outlined in the program (maximum 70 points), as well as the points from the final evaluation (maximum 30 points), which takes the form of a credit assignment. The minimum passing score for the credit assignment is 18 points (60% of the maximum score), which is added to the semester points. Throughout the semester, various types of work and forms of assessment specified in the program are evaluated, including participation in discussions and debates during practical sessions, completion of individual and group assignments. In the second half of the semester, a self-prepared credit presentation in German (speech) is evaluated. The credit presentation is mandatory.
