Learning outcomes
The goal of the discipline is to form students' ability to solve complex problems
specialized tasks and practical problems in assessing socio-economic levels
development of subregions and individual countries of the world, features of their territorial organization
economy and have a holistic spatio-temporal view of modern socio-economic
processes occurring in the world. Studying an academic discipline involves application
modern theories and research methods of natural and social objects and processes in various
countries of Asia, Oceania and Australia using a complex of interdisciplinary data and for
conditions of insufficient information.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastery of the school course "Geography", educational disciplines
"Mathematical and statistical methods in geography", "Geography of the countries of Europe, North America",
educational practice on methods of acquiring geographic information;
2) to be able to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze the peculiarities of natural and social processes in
geographic envelopes, evaluate and ensure the quality of works, be able to implement
comprehensive assessment and monitoring of resources, predict the development of geographical processes and
phenomenon;
3) to know the theoretical foundations of social geography, location of production, population,
natural resource potential.
Course content
The regularities and factors of the territorial organization of society and its
constituents at the level of subregions of Asia, Oceania and Australia, geographic problems of spatial
organizations of the regional economy. The peculiarities of the territorial are considered
(international) division of labor, placement of productive forces within the studied regions,
regional policy, territorial organization of production, geopolitics and geostrategy
regions of the world, spatial socio-economic proportions, territorial socio-
economic structures, transport and infrastructure networks and systems, as well as systems
settlement within the regions of the world

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The task of studying the discipline consists in students acquiring deep theoretical knowledge
knowledge on issues of typology of countries of the world according to various characteristics, coverage of the main ones
stages of formation of a political map, assessment of levels of socio-economic development, place
countries in the international division of labor. Tasks of the discipline "Geography of the countries of Asia, Oceania,
of Australia" consist in providing students with general and professional competencies,
provided by the "Geography" educational program, namely in:
- the ability to preserve and multiply moral, cultural, scientific values and achievements
society on the basis of understanding the history and patterns of development of the countries of Asia, Oceania and
Australia,
Assessment methods and criteria
Conditions for admission to the exam: the recommended minimum for admission is 36 points. For
number of students who scored a total of less than 36 points (recommended minimum),
a mandatory condition for admission to the exam is writing essays on questions
missed or insufficiently mastered topics.
Final evaluation in the form of an exam: the maximum number of points in the exam is 40
points, the minimum number of points that are added to semester grades is 24 points (60% of the maximum
the number of points assigned to the exam).
