1. Know: 1.1 the main historical prerequisites for the formation of university education in the world; 1.2 the main stages and features of the development of educational processes in Ukrainian lands; 2. Be able to: 2.1 to characterize the peculiarities of the influence of world university traditions on formation of the Ukrainian educational system; 2.2 to understand the essence of historical processes that influenced the development of university education on Ukrainian lands; 3. To have basic skills of forming independent conclusions regarding educational ones processes in the world, in Ukraine and at Taras Kyiv National University Shevchenko in different chronological periods, apply the knowledge gained in the process in practice teaching.

Acquaintance with the primary sources of classical education and its traditions. Highlighting the peculiarities of Western European university education at at different stages of historical development from ancient times to modern times. Characteristics of evolution domestic higher education, formation and functioning of Ukrainian universities lands Historical overview of the founding process and subsequent scientific and pedagogical activities University in Kyiv (XIX - XXI centuries). Analysis of the current situation of Taras KNU Shevchenko, the Faculty of Geography and its main specialties against the background of world ones trends in the field of higher education.
