Prerequisites and co-requisites
To know: - physical features of a continuous medium, its configuration State variables of a continuous medium (continuous functions of coordinates and time); - basic concepts of structural hydrology. The global hydrological cycle (GHC), its structure and main links. Water masses, their formation, movement, transformation and modification in the HCG; - the oceanic and continental link of the HCC and their main stages; - distribution of land and water on the globe. Earth's water resources. Reserves of fresh water of the Earth and continents; - geographical features of the formation of the structure of the hydrological cycle of individual continents. The water balance of individual continents and the territorial distribution of its components; - regional features of the river flow of individual continents.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to study and acquire knowledge by students about the formation, movement, transformation and modification of water masses in the global hydrological cycle and in various natural land zones, about the structure of the external and internal water exchange of the Earth's continents, about the variability of the annual values of the water balance components and types on their territories intra-annual variation of atmospheric precipitation, evaporation and river runoff, about the water supply of the continents and the distribution of water resources of rivers, lakes, underground waters, glaciers, reservoirs and the peculiarities of their use in water management on their territory, as well as familiarization with the trends in the transformation of continental hydrological cycles and their probable causes , factors of current and expected changes in the Earth's climate and hydrosphere.

Assessment methods and criteria
Conditions for admission to the exam: the recommended minimum for admission is 36 points. For students who scored a total of less than 36 points (recommended minimum), writing essays on missed or insufficiently mastered topics is a mandatory condition for admission to the exam. - final assessment in the form of an exam is conducted in written format. The maximum number of points during the exam is 40, the minimum number of points added to semester points is 24 (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam). The final grade in the discipline consists of the points scored by the student based on the results of the semester control of the first and second parts and the points of the final test.
