Learning outcomes
1. to understand the specifics and features of the implementation of cultural ideas, images, and meanings, as well as to critically evaluate the possibilities of their interpretation to solve important problems for a society. 2. to analyze textual and visual sources of information about cultural phenomena and processes; to verify information according to professional objectives. 6. to communicate fluently in official and foreign languages orally and in writing to discuss professional issues, presentation of research results and projects. 7. to evaluate historical achievements and the latest achievements in cultural studies. 12. to collect, analyze and evaluate empirical facts and interpret them in according to modern theoretical ideas of the relevant field of cultural studies.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Students must know the main stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process, the history of formation and development of art, specifics, features of functioning in the cultural system of a particular historical epoch; . 2. Be able to collect and interpret information about culture phenomena, analyze works of art with a distinction of their belonging to a particular era, style, genre, form and content load, carry out their meaningful interpretation, apply modern philosophical and aesthetic concepts and methods in understanding the artistic phenomena; 3. Have basic skills in research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting in relation to cultural and artistic events and phenomena; use of foreign language professional culturological information sources.
Course content
The discipline presents the basic laws of art development of XX-XXI centuries. It summarizes and systematizes the ideas about the processes taking place in the artistic culture of XX - XXI centuries. in academic and non-academic music (jazz, rock, pop and hip-hop), cinema and fine arts. Students review artistic trends and highlight their characteristics. The specifics of the creative method of the brightest representatives of artistic culture of the XX-XXI century in the context of globalization are studied. In the course, applicants analyze the transformation of the nature of art in the context of globalization, the innovative nature of contemporary art, the phenomenon of creative space and the art world of modern Ukraine: achievements, breakthroughs, problems and prospects. Students consider the role of art in the cultural diplomacy of a globalized world.
