PLO 1. Use Ukrainian as the state language in all spheres of public life, including professional communication. PLO 8. Apply philological knowledge to solve professional problems. PLO 12. To know the norms of the oriental literary language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 13. To create oral and written texts of various genres and styles in an oriental language. PLO 18. Demonstrate basic knowledge of translation theory, the main theoretical and practical problems of translation studies in the context of a specific pair of languages (oriental and Ukrainian). PLO 23. To apply the knowledge and skills necessary to create an adequate written and oral translation of texts of various genres and styles from an oriental language into Ukrainian and vice versa.

Full-time form

Prior to taking this course, students must have successfully mastered the professional disciplines in the previous courses and have knowledge of translation theory. Know the phonetic laws, common and terminological vocabulary, grammatical structures and syntax rules of the Turkish language; have skills in oral and written translation, basic skills of cognitive and professional activity; culture of thought, its general laws.

The aim of the discipline is to improve students' practical skills and abilities necessary for written and oral translation into Turkish/Ukrainian, practice written and oral abstract and annotative translation of materials of various styles and topics. Particular attention is paid to lexical and semantic transformations in the translation of political texts and their grammatical features. Professional terminology, clichés and cliches in texts on socio-political topics are considered.

Oral answers, additions, participation in discussions during practical classes, blitz surveys, tests, translation homework, independent work with dictionaries, text corpora, and videos from the Internet.

Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge), which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills); (communication); (autonomy and responsibility), which accounts for 60% of the total grade. Assessment of semester work: oral answers at practical classes, supplementary materials, blitz surveys, translation homework, independent work with dictionaries, text corpora, and videos from the Internet. Final assessment: written and oral exam. Admission to the exam is based on the student's successful completion of assignments and work throughout the semester. The final grade in the discipline (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) consists of the sum of the number of points for semester work (minimum 37, maximum 60 points) and the exam (minimum 24, maximum 40 points).
