Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Know rights and responsibilities as a member of society, be aware of the values of civil society, the rule of law, the rights and freedoms of a human and citizen in Ukraine.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before taking this course, students should know the features of functioning and development of modern society, politics and power, human interaction with social and political institutions, and the special characteristics of modern society.
2. Be able to collect and interpret information about political processes; apply basic terms, categories of analysis of socio-political phenomena and processes.
3. Have elementary skills of scientific research and information management; use informative sources.
Course content
The discipline introduces students to politics as a social phenomenon, theoretical knowledge and form of activity, the evolution of political knowledge, the essence and classification of political systems. The Discipline analyzes power as a public phenomenon, social legal government and civil society, features of the functioning of socio-political associations in the political system, trends in contemporary world politics.

Information-traditional with elements of problem-oriented learning: lectures, seminars, independent work, consultations, analysis of practical situations, performing individual tasks.

Semester Work Assessment:
1. Oral report: LO 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 2.4, 3.1, 3.2, 4.1, 4.2 - 26-35 points;
2. Addition / participation in discussion: LO 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 2.4, 3.1, 3.2, 4.1, 4.2 - 5-15 points;
3. Independent work: (outline of primary sources): LO 1.1, 4.1 - 5-10 points;
4. Independent work: (analytical assignment, project presentation): LO 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 3.1, 3.2, 4.1, 4.2 - 12-20 points.
The final assessment in the form of a test.
