Learning outcomes
PLO 8. To know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of words, the history of the Crimean Tatar language and literature, and be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 12. Analyze linguistic units, determine their interaction and characterize linguistic phenomena and processes that determine them. PLO 15. Carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of different styles and genres. PLO 16. To know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of the chosen philological specialization, to be able to apply them in professional activities.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the courses: Basics of translation practice; Translation practice; Practical course of the first oriental language. 2. Knowledge of the basic provisions, categories, scientific apparatus of the general theory of translation, ways to achieve adequate translation and basic models of translation activity. 3. Possession of the culture of thinking, knowledge of its general laws, ability to correctly (logically) arrange its results in written and oral speech in the native and foreign languages.
Course content
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the main provisions of modern translation studies, to form a theoretical and practical basis for further development of translation skills necessary for their future work. The course of lectures is aimed at developing conscious translation activity based on an understanding of the regularities of the translation process as an act of interlingual communication, its limits, the ability to identify translation problems, develop strategies and tactics for solving them in specific conditions. This course is also aimed at broadening and deepening students' general cultural outlook and translation training.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Completion of assignments in seminar classes, report-analysis of the topics covered, creative assignments, essay, presentation.
Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation of semester work: 1. Completion of tasks in seminars: - 9/27 points. 2. Creative tasks, abstract, presentation: - 20/30 points. 3. Module control work №1 and №2: 8/10 points. 4. Final control work: 15/23 points.
