Learning outcomes
Know the features of existing pension provision systems; main elements of current norms of foreign pension law and their application in the practical sphere. Ability to systematize expert, analytical conclusions, scientific and draft documents taking into account global trends in the legal regulation of pensions; to draw up expert and analytical conclusions on research reports and draft legislation in the field of legal regulation of pension insurance and pension provision. Solve and substantiate practical tasks and cases. Evaluate options for solving practical situations, use different approaches to solving practical situations in the field of comparative pension provision.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the current trends in the development of the comparative law of pension provision; basic concepts and theories of pension provision, their historical and legal substantiation. Be able to independently study scientific literature, to apply the norms of the legislation on pension provision in the countries of the world; analyze case law, draw sound conclusions, choose research methods, as well as the results processing methods, modify existing and develop new methods, based on the objectives of specific research and legal practice; use foreign and international experience in the field of legal regulation of pensions for drafting, expert and scientific analytical work.
Course content
Pension provision as an important component of social security law in modern legal systems. Peculiarities of applying the comparative method in social security law. The concept and types of pensions in the pension systems of the world. Comparative legal analysis of the parties to pension provision. Pension system of Ukraine and Poland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Belgium, England, Finland, the USA, Canada: comparative legal analysis.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Verbal: explanation, discussion, lecture, seminar, individual work and tasks. Visual: illustration, demonstration, self-observation. Practical: analysis of current local law-making practice, judicial practice, practical tasks.
Assessment methods and criteria
The minimum score to be obtained by a student according to the established forms of assessment is 24 points. The maximum score that can be obtained by a student per semester is 40 points. The envisaged forms of semester assessment cannot exceed 40 points in total. The maximum final grade for this discipline can be 100 points. A student can receive a maximum of 60 points in the credit, to which the points obtained by the student during seminars are added. To obtain an overall positive grade in the discipline, the grade for the credit may not be less than 36 points. If the student scored less than 36 points, the latter are not added to the semester grade (regardless of the number of points obtained during the semester), the information in the “credit score” column is “0” and only the number of points obtained during the semester is transferred to the “resulting grade” column.
