Learning outcomes
PLO 12. Analyze language units, determine their interaction, and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes. PLO 17. Collect, analyze, systematize and interpret language and speech facts and use them to solve complex problems and problems in specialized fields of professional activity and / or training. PLO 20. Know Greek and Latin substratum of the modern academic terminology, possess the knowledge of the metalanguage of the academic description and use it in the situations of professional communication. PLO 22. Realize the role and place of classical languages and literatures in the context of the European linguistic and cultural space, in the strategies of the development of the contemporary academic paradigm and modern civilization.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastering of the academic disciplines "Introduction to Linguistics", "History of Ancient Greece and Rome", "Greco-Latin Foundations of Scientific Terminology" and "Latin Language"; 2) knowledge of general information about the historical and cultural context of antiquity, the basics of terminology, the basics of grammar and syntax of the Latin language; 3) possession of basic skills of analysis and interpretation of original works under the scope of the peculiarities of cultural and diachronic perspective.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to study the features of Latin legal standardization with the involvement of original written works in the Roman law, in-depth familiarization with the stages of formation of Latin-language legal terminology and its reception in the Ukrainian law-making space. The subject is the study of the history of the formation and regularization of legal terminology in Rome, temporal and semantic characteristics of legal terms, genre diversity of legal works; research in the context of the term formation of the role of custom in the formation of the legal system of Rome and Europe. The discipline gives an idea of: the main stages in the development of legal Latin, the sources of law formation, the norms of customary law, the foundations of Roman civil law; stages in formation and normalization of the codification system of the Roman state based on the materials of legal works; types of civil process and their terminological reproduction in forensic texts, terminological evolution of property rights in Rome.

Oral answer, additions, participation in the discussion, control work with open answers, creative task (essay, reader's review), final control work in the form of tests
Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points is formed by the points obtained by the student in the process of learning the material from the entire course. The overall grading for the semester consists of points received for the classroom, independent creative works and the final test. In case of absence from the practical session, the student must complete the task for the practical session in written form. Final assessment: a credit. The final number of points for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is defined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final test. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures.
