Course content
The aim of the discipline is to form students' professional understanding of translation as a means of activating speech activity. The discipline gives an idea of translation as a dynamic process of parallel linguistic transmission of original statements in written and oral forms, summarises information about translation models, strategies and techniques for adequate transmission of textual information from one language into another. It consolidates and updates knowledge about the systemic organisation of the modern Ukrainian language, considers its units and phenomena in comparison with the student's native language. The discipline improves the skills of written and oral translation of multigenre texts in various communicative situations and spheres of communication; develops editing skills; improves the communicative and translation competences of a philologist and contributes to the qualified language training of a future translator.
