PR03. Plan, execute, analyze data and present the results of experimental research in the field of biology. PR07. Have the techniques of self-education and self-improvement. Be able to design the trajectory of professional growth and personal development, applying the acquired knowledge. PR08. Know and understand the basic terms, concepts, theories and laws in the field of biological sciences and on the borders of subject areas. PR11. Understand the structural organization of biological systems at the molecular level. PR13. Know the mechanisms of preservation, implementation and transmission of genetic information and their importance in evolutionary processes. PR19. Apply in practice methods for determining the structural and functional characteristics of biological systems at different levels of the organization. PR25. Solve specific applied problems of biology by appropriate methods.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Complete course of secondary education, especially in biological disciplines. 2. Knowledge of the structure and functions of cells and tissues within the school curriculum. 3. Basic skills of working with a light microscope.
Course content
Course on the structure, functioning, evolution, ontogenesis of the cell as an elementary unit of life. Its tasks are: to acquaint students with the laws of structure, development, metabolism in the cells of living beings; to form an idea of the origin and general patterns of evolutionary development of cells; to form an idea of the structure and functioning of cells and their components; to give students an idea of current trends and directions of basic scientific and applied research in cytology and related sciences.

Semester assessment: 1. Modular control work 1 - PH 1.1; 1.2; 2.1; 3.1 - 15 points / 7.5 points 2. Modular control work 2 - PH 1.3; 2.2; 2.3; 2.4; 2.5; 3.1 - 15 points / 7.5 points 3. Intermediate testing of pH 2.1; 2.2; 2.3; 2.4; 2.5 - 30 points / 15 points The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam. The form of the exam is written, the type of written assignments is tests.
