Learning outcomes
To identify the causes, types and nature of international conflicts and disputes, to substantiate and apply economic, legal and diplomatic ways and means of resolving them at the international level, while defending the national interests of Ukraine. To defend the national interests of Ukraine taking into account the security component of international economic relations. To demonstrate the knowledge of theory and practice of international law, international relations, international business, international information and regional studies. To apply the experience of diplomatic support of foreign policy of various state formations in order to identify the main trends and patterns of historical progress of Ukraine and prospects for its European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To have a proper level of knowledge of the school course of Ukrainian history, to know the main historical events and their causal relationships. To be able to think abstractly, analyze and synthesize, generate new ideas, identify and solve problems of varying complexity. To be able to search, process and analyze information from various sources combined with the skills to use modern information and communication technologies.

Module 1.
Ukrainian statehood and diplomacy in the Middle Ages and modern times
1. Origins, emergence and development of national traditions of statehood and diplomacy
2. The struggle for the Cossacks-Hetmans’ statehood and its diplomatic component
3. Diplomatic support of national liberation struggle in Ukraine in 1917-1921.
Module 2.
Ukraine on its way to modern international personality
4. Ukraine between the World Wars: the international political dimension
5. The Ukrainian issue on the eve and during the Second World War
6. The Ukrainian SSR in international relations during the Cold War
7. The main areas and priorities of foreign policy and diplomacy of modern Ukraine
