PLO 12. Analyze language units, determine their interaction, and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes. PLO 20. Know Greek and Latin substratum of the modern academic terminology, possess the knowledge of the metalanguage of the academic description and use it in the situations of professional communication.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastering of the academic disciplines "Introduction to Linguistics", "Ancient Greek language (first semester, second semester)" "Latin language (first semester, second semester)"; 2) knowledge of the theoretical and practical foundations of the professional discipline, knowledge of general linguistic concepts, the basics of the grammar of the Ancient Greek and Latin languages; 3) possession of basic abilities and skills of analysis of linguistic units.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is to acquire skills in using special scientific terminology to solve professional tasks. The course consists of two substantive parts. The first covers the material related to acquiring skills of working with a dictionary, mastering knowledge of word formation. The second is the acquisition of skills in the analysis of words and term elements borrowed from classical languages, assimilation of professional terminology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge 1.1 - 1.9), which makes up 50% of the total assessment, and the assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills 2.1-2.3 ); (communication 3.1-3.3); (autonomy and responsibility 4.1-4.4), which is 50% of the total grade. Final assessment in the form of credit.
