Prerequisites and co-requisites
In order to better master the educational material of the discipline, students must have knowledge and skills in geoinformatics and computer technology, GIS, remote sensing, databases, programming, systems analysis.
Course content
The discipline "GIS in project management" allows you to gain knowledge on planning, project analysis, development of design strategies using GIS. The discipline takes into account current trends, existing standards and approaches and project planning and management methodology. It aims to consider the features of planning and project management, the creation of systems that operate on the basis of geographic information technology. An important component of this discipline is the study of project planning and management methodology in order to improve the quality of the existing and future environment for the use of GIS on the example of specific tasks in the Earth sciences.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control is carried out according to the module-rating system and involves 6 practical works (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve problems using the methods and tools outlined by the teacher) and 3 written modular tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written exam.
